The Food #1 : Vegan in Paris

Altough being a vegetarian living in Paris for the last 10+ years has usually never been an issue, I’m not sure I can say with utter confidence that being a vegan in Paris is super duper easy.

Even tough, thankfully things are changing for the best and vegan-friendly places are popping up in most places. To be honest, I’ve mostly found new and exciting things on the right bank of the Seine.

Here are my fave spots, I’ve managed to squeeze a cheeky top 5 :

  1. East Side Burgers : awesome burgers and yummy cheesecakes. If you’re in the mood for an excellent burger with decent fries and a rock and roll attitude – it’s the place to be. Also, they have excellent taste in music and you can often see bands stopping by before a gig.
  2. Bob’s Kitchen : best satay sauce ever. I’m partial to peanuts, especially when they are part of an excellent sauce spread on a mix of legumes, vegetables, whole rice in what ends up being a wonderful veggie goodness. Be prepared to share your table with hipsters/bobos/content creators from all over. Honorable mention for the acai bowls.
  3. Gentle Gourmet : the gastronomic option. Everything has always been perfect every time I ate there. Sophisticated, subtle, and fancy fancy fancy. The kind of place that gets away with edible flowers on entrées without looking posh. Plus they’ve also ventured into vegan pastries – that is croissants and pains au chocolat with traditional hot chocolate / coffee on the weekends.
  4. Wild and The Moon : detoxing everything from your liver to your wallet. Everything you need to eat from salads, to daily bowls. I’m especially in love with the freshly pressed juices – the tastiest in my book being the “Better Than Botox”.
  5. Soya : the hot spot for brunch. All you can eat buffet on Sunday, with tons of wonderful options – I recomment stretchy pants and fasting the day before. The coffee is also excellent, and they have fancy tea options that scream “good for your liver”. I’m in love with their purée. It’s also a super chill place to have dinner.

I aim to try every vegan/vegan friendly restaurant in Paris by 2017, I’ll keep you posted !
